THE SAMOAN CLIPPER
READY TO HOP-OFF DEPARTURE NOT YET FIXED (By Telegrapb.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Friday The Samoan Clipper will be taxied back to the city at 1.30 p.m. to-day from Islington Bay, Rangitoto, where she has been sheltering from the north-easterly blow, Captain Musick having gone down by launch to bring the clipper back. She will re-fuel this afternoon at the Pan-American mooring jetty in Mechanic’s Bay in readiness for the first hop on her return journey across the Pacific, but it will not be decided until to-night whether she will take off to-morrow morning. The outlook is stormy, although the actual storm has not yet broken.

MAY LEAVE TO-MORROW A LARGE AIR MAIL (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCIvLND, Friday An indcafAn that the tropcal storm which lias delayed the clipper is dying out was given to-day by the PanAmerican meteorologist, Mr E. B. Buxton. The take-off will probably be made to-morrow morning, but Ihe final decision will be made at ten o’clock 10-night. The air mail packages now’ total 2 4,500.
