RISE IN THE NOTE ISSUE DAIRY ADVANCES HIGHER (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The Reserve Bank return for the week ended Monday, December 27, was issued to-night. The statement is balanced at £29,817,032, or £353,792 more than at the close of the previous week. A further slight rise in the value of the note issue, which increased bv £138,913 to £15,233,127, probably represents the peak of the holiday season demand. Government deposits arc £546,856 lower than they were a week before, and those of the trading banks have increased by £888,189. Other demand liabilities are £125,065 lower. The sterling exchange reserve has risen by £115,166 in the weex the return covers. Advances to the Dairy Industry Account are £401,841 higher, while the item, advances other than to the State or State undertakings, | which stood at £150,000 the previous • week, has disappeared from the bal-ance-sheet.
