PEACE PAVILION
EMPIRE EXHIBITION SCHEME ERECTION AT GLASGOW (Times Air Mail Service) LONDON, Dec. 10 The scheme for the erection of a Peace. Pavilion at next year’s Empire Exhibition in Glasgow is now practically assured of success, says the News Chronicle. This was disclosed at a meeting of the London Advisory Committee in London-last night. The exhibition authorities had given the organisers, chief among them the League of Nations Union, an oplion on a site until to-day. but it has nowbeen agreed to extent the period of option to the end of the year.
Although the organisers wanted £SOOO they are now willing to go on with the Peace Pavilion if they get within £IOOO of that sum. During the last, two or three days subscriptions have come in by hundreds of pounds, and the organisers are confident that, within the next week or two tb<e Peace Pavilion funds will he well guaranteed. The Earl of Elgin, who presided at last night's meeting, stated that India was the only part, of the Empire not taking part in the Exhibition.
