WEDDING
GRIFFITHS —HASZARD Hydrangeas in shades of blue and pink decorated St. Peter’s Cathedra' yesterday morning for the marriage 01 Dorothy N'annette, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Vivian Haszard, of Patetonga, Morrinsville, and Paul Coghlan Griffiths, of Auckland, fourth son of the late Mr and Mrs J. C. Griffiths, of Dargaville. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Paul Sergei, and Mr E. H. Apthorp presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a charming gown of pastel pink needlerun organza over taffeta of the same shade, cut on slim-fitting lines, the waistline being encircled with a sash of pale pink velvet. A coatee of matching organza edged with frills was also worn, a cluster of pale pink carnations finishing the corsage of the frock. Her short American veil of palest pink tulle edged with frills of net was held in place with a wreath of orange blossom and worn over the face on entering the church. She carried a sheaf of carnations and gladioli in shades of pale pink. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Keitha Kenrick. of Auckland, cousin of the bride, who wore a graceful frock of apple green organdie lace over taffeta. Fashioned on slim-fit-ting lines it was worn with a bolero coatee to match and finished on the corsage, with a cluster of pale pink carnations. On her head she wore a circlet of green tulle held in place with three pink carnations, anrl she carried a sheaf of flowers similar to the bride’s of pale pink carnations and gladioli. Mr J. H. Murdoch, of Auckland, was best man. A reception was held after the ceremony at the Hamilton Hotel, where the tables had been artistically arranged with gladioli in shades of pink. Mrs Haszard, mother of the bride, received the guests wearing a navy frock with flowered corsage, navy coat and navy bangkok hat. Her posy was of Cowers in shades of red. She was assisted by Mrs J. C. Griffiths, who was wearing black georgette and a black picture hat. She carried a red posy.
The bride and bridegroom left later for the honeymoon, the bride travelling in a smart frock of navy taffeta printed in white, fashioned with puff sleeves, high neckline and full skirt Her halo hat and accessories were of navy to match her frock.
Mr and Mrs Paul Griffiths will make their home at St. Heliers Bay, Auckland.
