FINAL ARRANGEMENTS
WAIKATO BUMMER SHOW IMPROVEMENTS TO GROUND Final preparations for the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s summer show were put in train to-day when a working bee was held on the Claudelands grounds. Considerable improvements have been necessary to cater better for the public and the exhibitors and much of the work was completed to-day. A feature of the pig section will be a model pig lay-out, which was erected by tlie Waikato Pig Recording Club today. New cattle pens for the chiller classes are nearing completion and it is*cxpected that these, besides coping for the added demands in this section for Friday's fixture, will prove very valuable for the Royal Show next year. The addition of an up-to-date pig wash has been made to the pig pavilion, where white-washing has also been carried out to brighten the pens. As at last year’s show*, all cars will be parked on the polo field in the centre of the ground and in order to provide adequate access four ramps ave been constructed to replace tlte one which previously crossed the trotting track. There should be a minimum of difficulty in directing cars from the Gillies Avenue entrance Ibis year as fbur post and wire lanes have been constructed (■» break up the traffl ■. Co-operation between the show sociation and the Hamilton Kennel Club has resulted in very much improved accommodation being provided for the dog show this year. About twice the area of benching will be available and special rooms have been constructed for Judges and stewards. r l’he polo field was recently harrowed and the turf is in perfect order for the various events, which will be held iu the centre of the ground
