FIXTURE AT NGARUAWAHIA HEAVY ENTRIES RECEIVED (Special Reporter.) NGARUAWAHIA, Tuesday. Despite the unfavourable weather, good times were registered at Paterson Park, Ngaruawahia, yesterday, when the Horotlu Sports Club’s annual Labour Day cycle meeting was held. The cinder track was In fairly good order and keen racing was wit- , nessed throughout the day. There was a good crowd present. This year’s meeting saw the heaviest entries the club has ever received, and ’with over 70 cyclists from all : parts of the Auckland province taking | part, keen competition was the keynote. Considerable interest oentred in the attempts by R. T. Taylor (Auckj land), the New Zealand sprint champion. and T. Crawford (Hamilton), the Waikato sprint champion, to lower the track record of 38 2-ssees. Taking the track flrst, Taylor set up the good ! time of 36 2-ssecs., but the Hamiltonj istn showed splendid'form to beat him by one-fifth of a, second.
