MOTOR CYCLE CLUB.

THE YEAR'S ACTIVITIES. VARIED PROGRAMME ARRANGED. In presenting his report to the annual meeting of the Hamilton Motor Cycle Club last evening, the president, Mr. J. Kennedy, stated that the financial membership stood at 2’5, which was slightly lower than that of the previous season. The position was to be regretted. During the year the club endeavoured to hold a number of events and the selection of these was fairly comprehensive but generally they were not patronised to > the extent they should have been sa’id, said Mr. Kennedy. An outstanding feature of the programme for the year was the running of the New Zealand Quarter Mile Championship, which was granted to Hamilton and some of the Dominion's best riders were seen in aclion. Formation of Platoon. The formation of the motor-cycle military platoon during tlie season had done a 'great deal to further interest in the sport in Hamilton, the speaker continued. Mr. Kennedy proposed that a member of that body should be elected to the committee as it. was hoped the club and the platoon would work in harmony. The bal-ance-sheet revealed a loss on the year's workings but a bank balance of £224 10s Bd. At this stage the members stood in silence as a mark of respect to the late Mr. J. Guthrie, the English professional rider, who was killed on August 8 while competing jn the German Grand Prix race. During the evening the following trophies were presented:— 500 c.c.
