Sussex. —First Innings, I eight for 640 declared (Paynter 322, Washbrook 118, Oldfield 92); Sussex, first innings, 340 (H. Parks 98). Following on they made 295 (Cox 115). Lancashire won by an innings and five ; runs.

39 fours. He broke several records It was his second century before lunci this season, and his fifth century foi the season.

It was the highest score ever made by a Lancashire professional, and broke Victor Trumper’s 1899 record for the highest score against Sussex.

R. H. Moore’s (Hampshire captain) 316 against Warwickshire is a Hampshire record.
