The Milan correspondent of the Times says an extraordinary surgical operation was carried out by Professor Aldo Defrise on a 52-year-old man who suffered from pericarditis. The doctor made an opening between the ribs, took hold of the man’s heart, cut the perland removed U, ttien put the heart back in place, and stitched up the wound. The operation, which lasted eighty minutes, was completely successful and the man is now in good health.
