(By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThsmes Valley Is as follows: Forecast: Light to moderate south-westerly winds predominating at first but veering gradually to northerlies. Weathe'r mainly fair at first, but with increasing cloud and later occasional rain. Temperatures mild. Seas slight to moderate. General Inference: An anticyclone is moving on to the northern extremity of the Dominion, while a shallow westerly depression extends from south-eastern Australia across the south Tasman Sea.
