HAMILTON OPERATIC SOCIETY. A WEEK’S SEASON ARRANGED. At a meeting of the committee of the Hamilton Operatic Society it was decided to book the Theatre Royal for a week, the season commencing on Monday, September 13, and finishing on Saturday, September 18. A matinee will be held on the Saturday afternoon. Miss Mavis Laurenson, was appointed ballet mistress, Mr W. Bynon-Powell stage manager, Mr W. Blyth assistant stage manager, and Mr Eric Clayton-Greene house manager. Several sub-committees were set up. Next week the producer, Mr Walter George, of Sydney, who has been busy with the principals for the past fortnight, will commence putting the chorus "through their paces.” Excellent progress has been made with the melodious score under the direction of Mr Stanley James.
