THE ANTARCTIC.
DR. INGRAM’S RECOLLECTIONS. “The healthiest climate In the world is to he found in the Antarctic. Some day parts of this huge continent, equal in area to Australia and Europe, probably Whaling Ray and Princess Elizabeth Land, will be the scene of great tourist activity. In summer the sun shines 24 hours of the day. and for three months in the year there is never a cloud in Hie sky nor a breath of wind. Cold germs do not exist.” Dr. Wilson Ingram, a inember of the two expeditions to tlie Antarctic led by Sir Douglas Mawson, painted a glowing picture of the Antarctic in these terms to members of the Kosciusko Snow Revellers’ Club, who held their inaugural dinner at Torii Cafe, George Street, Sydney. Mentally and physically, snow sports, ho said, were the best of all “If llm call came again.” he added “I should like to go hack south. An American reporter once told me that polar explorers reminded him of n famous American duck which flies backwards. ‘lt does not care two hoots were il is going.’ the reporter said, ‘hut il likes to know where it has been. ”
