INTEREST IN RUGBY.
TO-DAY’B ATTRACTIONS. ALL BLACK TRIALS & SPRINGBOKS. Thousands of enthusiastic follower* .of Rugby to-day had an almost unprecedented number of first-class matches on the one day to interest them. First there was the New Zealand v. “The Rest" All Black trial at Wellington which was followed keenly by all New Zealanders as well as many overseas supporters of the game. Next in importance was the second test match between the Springboks and Australia at Sydney which was of major interest to people in the Dominion. Additional major Rugby games in the Dominion to-day included four inter-provincial matches in the North Island. King Country played Thames \alley at Te Aroha. At New Pljinoutli Auckland met Taranaki. Carterton was the venue of the annual Hawke's BayWairarapa fixture and East Coast played Poverty Bay at Ruatoria. The resuits of all matches will be published in the 8 o’clock edition of tho Waikato Times this evening.
