As Arohena has virtually won the local competition the game between this team and Putaruru was played at Glenshea Park In a friendly spirit on Saturday. Arohena won by 18 points to 3. Putaruru for a while dominated the play, Vallance kicking and .running well. Putaruru’s inside backs were not strong enough to feed the wings, who played individually. Play was now mostly in Me home team’s 2 5 with Arohena thrusting with . their backs to the goal line. Yates followed up a short punt to score a converted try. Several times Arohena set the backs moving, Yates, Prendergast and Forsyth handling smartly but there was no further score.
