The Hon. P. Fraser, acting-Prime Minister, Minister of Health and Minister of Education, arrived at Auckland by the Union Airways air liner on Saturday afternoon. The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Transport, will leave for Australia on Thursday, July 8, on a health-recruit-ing trip. If his health permits lie will investigate the Commonwealth transport and electric power schemes. Mr Justice Northcroft. of Christchurch, Is presiding at the session of the Supreme Court in Hamilton to-day The Rev. W. G. Bird, of Hamilton, has been appointed priest-in-charge of St. Andrew's, Inglewood*. The Rev. 11. G. Gilbert, of Hamilton, preached at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, New Plymouth, yesterday. Mr W. T. Doig, the secretary of the Bureau of Social Science, Wellington, is in Hamilton. Mr G. Wake, of the staff of the Public Trust, Hamilton, has received notice of his transfer to Gisborne. Mr A. J. Law, manager of the Bank of New South Wales, Cambridge, leaves to-day for a holiday in Australia.
Mr Denys Cow, of Christchurch, has been appointed judge of the elocution sections at the Greymouth Eisteddfod in August.
Mr H. J. O’Loughlen, manager of 1 the Te 'Kuiti branch of the Bank of Australasia, has received notice of his transfer to Temuka. The Rev. A. R. Wallace, Vicar of Raglan, lias been appointed Vicar of Hunterville in the Diocese of Wellington, as from the beginning of September. Mr F. B. Stephens, research economist of the Internal Affairs Department, Wellington, is visiting Hamilton. Mr Stephens was tutor-organiser of the Workers’ Educational Association in Hamilton about 8 years ago. Mr G. 11. Frater, Registrar of Pensions in Hamilton, has received advice of his transfer to New Plymouth. Mr L. McKinnon, formerly Registrar of Pensions at Wanganui, will replace ! Mr Frater. The Rev. J. McL. Wilson, of New ' Plymouth, was in Hamilton over the week-end, and conducted the services ! in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
