WEDDINGS.
PRICE—RITCHIE. The marriage was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Church, Hamilton, recently between Jean Agnes Ritchie, of Edgecumbe, Bay of Plenty, and John Walter Barnard Price, of Auckland. The Rev. A. D. Horwell, of Edgeeumbe, officiated, and Mr E. H. Apthorp was the organist. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore an empire gown of ivory lace over satin. The high neckline was edged with tiny velvet flowers and silver leaves, and the full sleeves were gathered at the elbow and finished with long fitting cuffs and velvet flowers. The gored skirt was fitting at the front and foil to a full small train at the back, and her lovely veil of hand-embroidered tulle was worn over the face and was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Miss Avis Winger, of Hamilton, was the bridesmaid, and wore a fro-ck of peony rose ring velvet fashioned on the same lines as that of the bride. She wore a headdress of silver satin, silver leaves and peony rose flowers, and carried a bouquet of pale pink chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Mr George Price (brother of the bridegroom) was best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Hamilton Hotel. Mrs Ritchie received the guests wearing an ensemble of burgundy wine matalasse with hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers. Mrs Sedgefleld, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of wine-coloured chiffon velvet with peach bloom hat, and carried a bouquet of autumn flowers.
When Mr and Mrs J. W. B. Price left for the honeymoon the bride travelled wearing a navy tailored costume and black accessories. Among the invited guests were:— Mr and Mrs N. Winger, Mr and Mrs J. DENTON—DUFFELL. The marriage was solemnised at the Springdale Church recently between Myrtle Jean, second eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs B. Duffell, of Springdale, and Henry Denton, only son of Mr and Mrs P. Denton, of Elstow. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Haslop, of Te Aroha. The church had been beautifully arranged by the bride's friends. The bride, who was given away by her eldest brother, Mr E. A. Duffell. looked charming in a beautiful gown of honey-toned windswept silk crepe. Her lovely veil reached to the hem of her gown and was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white jonquils, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Rachel Duffell (sister of the bride) and Miss Muriel Manders, of Kali Kati (cousin of the bride). They wore similar frocks of coronation gold taffeta finished with a spray of gold roses, and gold hairbands of roses to tone. They carried bouquets of chrysanthemums, marigolds and maidenhair fern. Mr Marton Jude (cousin of the bridegroom) was best man, and Mr Harold Rye (cousin of the bride) was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was hchl in the Springdale Hall which was decorated with wedding bells and white and gold streamers. The bride’s mother wore a wine-coloured costume I with hat and accessories to tone, and carried a bouquet of violets and daphne. The bridegroom’s mother was wearing a frock of navy blue silk with hat and coat to match, and carried a bouquet of the same flowers. Mr and Mrs H. Denton left later for the honeymoon, the bride travelling in a nigger-brown costume with accessories to match. They will make their home at Elstow.
