THE WEATHER.
LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. The following local observations on the weather are supplied by Miss Budd, of Messrs Balfour, Irvine and Webster, Limited, Hamilton: Barometer. Friday 29.70 Saturday 29.95 Thermometer. Max. Min. Thursday 61 51 Friday 56 48 Mean Temperature, 52 deg. The barometer has very little movement and reads 29.95. Indications are for unsettled weather to-day and probably to-morrow, with lower temperature, heavy rain and north-easterly winds prevailing. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .04in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .14in. Rainfall for June to dale, 2.66in. Average rainfall for June, 5.19in. Rainfall for year to date, 23.29in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WalkutoTbsmes Valley is ns follows. ’ Forecast: Moderate to strong south-easterly winds of gale force in exposed positions, but gradually decreasing. Weather cold and changeable with passing showers, heavy at times but conditions slowly improving. Seas rough. General inference: Pressure is still rather low In the far north, but has risen further over most of the Dominion. An Intense antloyclone extends from Australia across the Tasman Sea and the South Island.
