WOMEN’S DIVISION.

PLEASANT AFTERNOON HELD. A very pleasant and enjoyable afternoon was spent at the residence of Mrs J. G. Wynyai*d, of Kihi Kihi, in aid of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Games and competitions were enjoyed, the following being the winners: , Mi's C. Kirkham (Te Mawhai) 1, Mesdames Broadbent (Te Mawhai) and Lowry (Taranaki) tie, 2. Mrs Cavers (Waikeria) won the consolation prize. Sevei-al new members were also enrolled. Mrs Wyhyard spoke of the excellent work done by Miss Eyre, of Te Awamutu, the housekeeping secretary for the Women’s Division. Miss Eyre was then asked to explain the aims and objects of the division in supplying housekeepers. She also l'ead letters of appreciation received from women who had been helped by the Division’s housekeepers. Miss Ir:yre was accorded thanks after which afternoon tea was served. Mrs Pattison, on behalf of the Division, thanked Mrs Wynyard for the use of her home and this brought an enjoyable aftei’noon to a close. Among those pi'esent wei-e:—Mes-dames L. G. Wynyai’d, Pattison, L. Eyi’e, L. G. Sutherland, C. Lees, Grey, Howie (Tokanui), W. Crook, H. Kinzitt (Kihi Kihi), Broadbent (Te Mawhai), Pei’rot (Te Mawhai), Robinson (Kihi Kihi), Moriarty (Kihi Kihi), Owens (Te Mawhai), Glassey (Kihi Kihi), Haines (Kihi Kihi), Brenton (Tokanui), C. Kei'kham (Te Mawhai), A. Anderson (Kihi Kihi), Earwaker (Te Mawhai), I. L. Anderson (Kihi Kihi), Wynyai'd (Kihi Kihi), Cavers (Waikeria), McGhie (Kihi Kihi), Lowry (Taranaki), Palmer (Tokanui), Bennie (Waikeria), Rushbrook (Te Mawhai). Misses Eyre (Te Awamutu), M. Wynyard (Kihi Kihi), I. Temple (Kihi Kihi).

TE AWAMUTU BRANCH. The Farmers’ Union and the Women’s Division held a most successful social in t the Te Awamutu Hall recently. With the Coronation still in view, the decorations took the form of red, white and blue balloons and lights and looked most effective. In between dances, items were given as follows:—Mrs Lindsay Young (songs), Miss I. Bell (Pirongia), (songs) Miss Spencer, (elocution) and a sketch by Mr Geoffery, Miss Mansfield and Mr Scriven. The hostesses for the evening comprised members of the Women’s Division committee and are to be congratulated on the success of the arrangements for the evening. OTOROHANGA BRANCH. FIRST ANNUAL BALL. The first annual ball of the Otorohanga Women’s Division, held in conjunction with the local branch of the I Farmers’ Union, in the Municipal Hall recently was an unqualified success. Clayton’s Orchestra (Cambridge) provided the dance music, and Messrs L. Palmer and C. W. Browne were the principal M.’sC. The hall had been gaily decorated. The programme was interspersed with many popular old-time dances, J prizes being awarded for novelty dances. The president of the local branch of the Farmers’ Union, Mr L. Palmer, hv the more’successful competitors] as follows: Novelty dance. Mrs Horneman and Mr Pevreal; spot waltz. Miss Dodunski and Mr 11. K. Lawrence. In a card tournament held for the non-dancers, the winners were Mrs F. Cleland and Mr Rowlands, while Mr .1. Ti'pw and Mrs William-.m vs .-re awarded consolation prizes. Supper was served in the annexe.

HAMILTON BRANCH. The tenth birthday party of the Hamilton branch of the Women's* Division of the Farmers’ Union will lie held on Tuesdaj. June 29. at. one o’clock in the usual V.M.C.A. rooms, not in Toorak Chambers as previously arranged*
