TE PUKE VALUES. The Farmers’ -Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, Te Puke, report on their fortnightly sale held at Te Puke. There was only a medium yarding of cattle, which showed a marked advance in value in all olasses from our last fortnightly sale. A smaller yarding of pigs than usual was penned but sold up to recent rates. Following are some of the prices realised:—A pen of medium weight fat bullocks, £8 Is; heavy fat cows, £6 to £6 14s; medium, £4 2s 6d to £5 15s; lighter, £3 15s to £4 Is; heavy boners, £3 19s to £4 7s 6d; lighter, £2 10s to £3 12s; store cows, £2 15s to £4 7s; runners, £2; bulls, £3 to £6 15s; dairy cows, £3 5s to £6; dairy heifers, early calvers, £4 15s to £6; more backward sorts, £2 15s to £4 ss. Pigs: Light baconers. £2 17s; medium porkers, 37s 6d; store pigs, 24s 6d to 30s; slips, 16s; sows to farrow, £3 2s 6d to £4 10s; sow with litter of 10, £6 2s 6d. HINUERA CLEARANCE. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held a successful olearing sale on account of Mr. de Luen, of Hinuera. A large number of buyers was present and the bidding was keen for all classes of stock. The breeding ewes were very mixed In the wool. Nevertheless, a good sale resulted; 100 2 and 4th ewes, border Leicester and Romney cross made 28s 9d; 177 mixed aged ewes, r.w. Leicester rams, 2 is 6d; 97 border Leicester rams, m.s., 26s 6d; small, 10s. The run cows and calves were a mixed lot and brought £2 17s all counted. A good line of dairy cows came forward in good condition. Early calvers sold freely. Good Jersey cows close to profit made £8 to £9; Shorthorn cross cows, close to profit, £7 10s to £8 ss; other cows, £7 to £7 15s; backward, £5 to £6 ss; threequarter cows, £3 10s to £4 ss; threeyear Jersey heifers, close to profit, £7 to £8 7s Gd; smaller sorts, £4 10s to £6 10s; small yearling heifers, £2 17s 6d; hulls, £4 10s to £5 15s; Shorthorn bull, £4 10s. The horses were very old allhough useful sorts; one bay gelding, aged, made £l7 10s; one at £l7, and a hack. £7. Implements and sundries sold at late rates. DISPERSAL AT WAIKINO. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Company, Limited, report having held a most successful dispersal sale of ttie Lea field Stud owned by Messrs. McGriniinins and Sons. The cattle came forward in splendid order and there was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the Waikato and I lie Bay of Plenty. Bidding was keen throughout and all classes of cattle sold under keen competition, a total clearance being effected with one or two exceptions. The herd of 37 cows averaged 17 guineas, the average for the first 10 being 2 7 guineas, the top price being 33 guineas paid for Leafield Sylph 11 v Mr. W. .Mears. Walton. Yearling heifers sold from 5 to 12 guineas, the line of 14 averaging 9$ guineas. A number of horses were sold, a mare with foal at foot realising £46 10s. A three-year-old colt brought £44, while younger horses sold from £2O to £32. RATES AT NGONGOTAHA. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their Ngongotaha sale yesterday when only a small yarding of sheep and pigs came forward while there was a good entry of all classes of cattle. A full bench of buyers was in attendance and prices realised were on a par with recent quotations. Fat ewes made 265; killable ewes, 17s to 225. Cattle: Medium fat cows, £5 to £5 15s; light fat cows, £4 2s 6d to £4 14s; fat Jersey cows, £3 10s to £4 Is; boners, £2 2s to £3 8s; potter bulls, £2 11s to £3 17s 6d; Jersey and Jersey cross cows, early calvers, £5 to £6 ss; more back-ward. £4 to £4 17s 6d; Jersey and Jersey cross heifers (August ana September), £4 17s 6d to £5 17s 6d; later calvers, £3 12s Gd to £4 10s. The Farmers* Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held a clearing sale on account of Mr W. Duffus at Pukekapia, Huntly, yesterday, when the cattle were offered in good condition to a good bench of buyers, a satisfactory sale resulting. The herd of 25 sound cows averaged £lO 2s, while the 20 Jersey springing heifers averaged £8 12s. Choice Jersey cows, (July calvers), made £lO 5s to £ll, (August calvers), £9 to £10; late, £6 10s to £8 10s; Jersey •cows In milk, £9 10s to £ll ss; unsound cows, £3 10s to £4 15s; Jersey heifers, springing. £8 10s to £9 10s; later calvers, £7 10s to £8 2s 6d. STUD JERSEY SALE. Messrs. Wright Stephenson and Company, Limited, report having held a stud Jersay sale at Katlkati when a combined offering was made on account of Mrs. M. A. Rogers and Mr. M. N. Trotter. Bad weather affected the attendance but competition was maintained throughout and the whole offering of 20 cows and 14 2-vear-old stud heifers was sold at satisfactory prices. The line of cows averaged 12 guineas, the highest price being 21 guineas paid for (Hldicombe Mimi by Mr. T. W. Wardlaw, Waimana. The line of heifers offered on account of Mrs. Rogers averaged 14 half guineas, the best price being 27$ guineas paid by Messrs. Boon and Berg for Cranbrol Flag’s Flirt. Christmas was forbidden in Massachusetts, United States of America for '"colonel Wilson, of Bowie. Texas, aged 9i, lias all his own teeth and has never used a toothbrush or visited a dentist.
