GARDEN PLACE HILL.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —It io. very seldom that I can see eye to eye with Mr Douglas Seymour, but I think he deserves the thanks of the people of Hamilton for hi-s watchful attitude over the Garden Place manoeuvres. Apparently the town is suffering from a form of Junta control, which is determined to get its own way. No wonder, when a borough councillor was being twitted xvith the result of the recent poll by a group of citizens, he retorted: “That is only the first round.” Let me add that it was not Mr Caro, who showed himself to be a sportsman and a gentleman by his attitude over the new development when it came up before the council a few days ago. It behoves the citizens to be up and doing. After all, the hill belongs to more ratepayers than the mere handful in the proposed special rating area.—l am, etc., VIGILANT. Hamilton, June 17.
