A DIFFICULTY
DAIRY DELEGATES. LACK OF ACCOMMODATION. NEW PLYMOUTH NEXT VENUE. “We are pretty well fed up by the complaints of dairy delegates attending this conference in Hamilton hi regard to lack of accommodation,” >said Mr J. G. Brechin, of Pahiatua, when recommending to the annual conference of the National Dairy Federation yesterday that the venue for next vear’s conference should be Palmerston North. Some of the delegates attending the present conference, said Mr Brechin, had to motor 14 to 15 miles night and morning to their places of accommodation. The same difficulty, however, had been experienced in other centres. As the National Dairy Federation was recognised as the parliament of the dairying industry it should seriously consider a permanent venue for next year’s conference.
The chairman, Mr A. Morton, explained that two Invitations had been received from New Plymouth asking the federation to make this centre the venue for nevt year’s conference. Several speakers opposed the suggestion of having a permanent venue 1 for the yearly conference, as the changes in location meant that a greater number of delegates could attend the conferences. New Plymouth’s' invitation should, therefore, be accepted.
By a substantial majority the conference decided to hold next year’s conference at New Plymouth.
