LATE SPORTING
WAIPA RACING.
TRACK EXCEPTIONALLY HEAVY BOOKLAW OVER COUNTRY. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) * TE AWAMUTU, Friday. The tracks at Te Awamutu were In a very heavy state this morning and rain which was falling made conditions very unpleasant. The going tomorrow will be exceptionally heavy. There was no fast work done but the following horses were all given strong work on the inside tracks—Ngakaru, Huntingmore, Tudor. Cynical Kid, Friendly Boy. Gav Rebel. Count Rousilllon. Grand City, Master Musk, Booklaw. Sweet Rose, Superior Guard, Chikara, General Rlske. Gay Sister, Tuaheahe. Tonnere. Lady Diana, Baroscope. Safe Bank. Loombination, Gallia. Celtic Lad, Corato. Lady Astrld, Ilutana, Nugget, Barricade. Illuminagh, Valpai, the Heroic colt, the Ace-Lady Cintra gelding, and the Bulhead colt. Master Musk (Ryan) and Booklaw (Watson) were to have' schooled together over two rounds of the country but Master Musk baulked at the fourth, unseating his rider. Booklaw continued on alone and over the last round he gave a good display. Master Musk was afterwards jumped over one fence. He has apparently taken a dislike to the brush fences. Te Hal and Fdlanui are expected to arrive to-day. Scratchings announced are Hill Billy and Sporting Song.
