HOBGOBLIN LAND. “Wake up sleepy head, wake up!” shouted a cheery voice. Imagine Shirley’s surprise when she awoke to find Dobin, her old wooden horse standing by her bedside. “Come on sleepy head, how would you like to come to Goblin land with me?” he asked in a very woody voice. “(Hi, how lovely,” cried the little girl clapping her hands, "when can 1 go?” “Jump upon my back and we’ll stqrt now," said Dobin. And very soon Shirley felt* herself flying through the air. Away they galloped over hedges, through tinkling streams and cold creeks and across green Melds and then, Shirley's eyes opened with surpr.se. for they were galloping over sugar cane streets of every colour of the rainbow. There were pink and white ones, green and mauve, yellow and orange und lovely rose shades. They passed little shops made of the most delicious sweets you could think of. At last they stopped at a liny house made of sweet chocolate and sugarcane with a thatched roof of delicious toffees. Little goblins in gaily coloured tunics took Shirley by the hand and fed her with Juicy fruit and sweets and gave her the loveliest dew to drink. Shirley had never had such a lovely feast in all her life. Then the goblins took iter to count the bright, silver stars and she helped them to polish the big, golden moon with a piece of rainbow silk, they slid down the rainbow and landed on the softest of clouds at the bottom and painted Dobin a lovely new grey. Then the little people dressed Shirley in a beautiful frock of silk and took her *•» see Hie wedding of Go-go the Goblin King. Shirley had never seen suu.i a pretty bride, who was dressed In the palest of pink and she carried a bouquet of fairy rosebuds and primroses. Just as Shirley was going to speak to tlie bride she heard a loud hang and she opened her eves lo find that Dobin had fallen over and she was safely hack in her own cosy bed.
