HOLLYWOOD ROMANCE.
GEORGE BRENT WEDS AGAIN. BRIDE AN AUSTRALIAN 'GIRL. Joy Howarth, former Cinesound (Sydney) film star, now known in Hollywood as Constance Worth, was married recently to George Brent, film star. The Howarth family has been aware of the romance for some time, but it was decided to delay the wedding until the arrival in Hollywood of Joy’s mother, Mrs Howarth. Mrs Brent had definitely settled: in Hollywood prior to her wedding, being under contract to R.K.O# Radio Pictures, for which studio she recently completed “China Passage.” She has purchased a house in the film oity, and her sister, Gwen, will shortly be leaving Australia to join her. •George Brent has been known for some time as one of the recluses of Hollywood. Rumour recently linked his | name with that of Greta Garbo. In j fact, it was said that he was one of ! the few men In whom the shy Swedish actress showed any real interest. Formerly the husband of Ruth Chatterton, Brent was born in Dublin in 1904. “Great News,” says Mr K. G. Hall. “That’s great news,” said Mr Ken. , G. Hall, director of Cinesound Productions, Ltd., when informed of Miss Howarth’s marriage. Mr Hall “discovered” Miss Howarth, giving her the lead in “The Squatter’s Daughter.” “George Brent to-day is one of the leading actors of the screen,” said Mr Hall. “He is one of the nicest fel- ; lows I met on my recent trip to Hollywood.” Miss Howarfh was in Hamilton in ! the stage version of “Ten Minute Alibi
