STATE HOUSING SCHEME.
NORTON ROAD BLOCK. TENDERS CLiOSE JUNE 22. According to advice received to-day by Mr C. A. Barrell, M.P., from Mr J. A. Lee, M.P., Under-Secretary for Housing, tenders for the erection of State houses on the Norton Road block recently acquired by the -Government, will close on June 22. Four -contracts are -open for tender. The following was the advice received from Wellington;— “ I am pleased to inform you that tenders for the erection of 19 singleunit houses and two two-house units at Dudley Avenue, and Mariri Avenue, Norton Road, in four different contracts, will close on Tuesday, June 22; One contract is for nine single-unit houses -and one two-house unit; one contract is for six single-unit houses and one two-house unit; and two contracts are for two single-unit houses each. Plans and specifications are available at the -offloes of the Public Works Department, Hamilton and Auckland.
