WIN FOR MARYLEBONE. DEFEAT OF THE REST. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received May 29, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, May 28. The M.C.C. touring team, captained by G. 0. Allen, defeated the Rest by 69 runs at Marylebone to-day. In reply to the Rest's score of 235 runs, Marylebone scored 37 6 in their first innings and 173 in their second (Wyatt 42, Hardstaff 24; bowling Gover seven for 44, Todd two for 46). The Rest, in their second innings, made 245 (Hutton 50, Parkes 64, Paynter 21, Dollery 41, Langridge 22. not out; bowling, Allen three for 65, Verity three for 55, Wyatt two for 13). MATCH WITH LANCASHIRE. GAME DRAWN IN 1931. After a rest to-day, the New Zealand cricket team, touring England, will commence a three day fixture with Lancashire at Manchester to-morrow. The 1931 team drew with this county. New Zealand batted first and scored 410 for nine wickets, when they declared and put Lancashire in to bat on a dead wicket and they made 4 87. The Dominion team again took the crease and, when play concluded, they had lost eight wickets for 306 runs. The most impressive of the visiting batsmen were G. L. Weir 101, T. C. Lowry 92 and H. G. Vivian 57. In the ■second knock, Vivian scored 83, Lowry 58 and G. S. Dempster 51. Vivian took five wickets for the loss of 117 runs.
