LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. The following local observations on the weather are supplied by Miss Budd, of Messrs Balfour. Irvine and Webster, Limited, Hamilton: Barometer. Friday Saturday 30.15 30.20 Thermometer. Max. Min. Thursday 54 46 Friday 63 54 Mean Temperature, 58.5 deg. The barometer reads 30.20 and has very little movement. Indications are for fair to cloudy weather today with scattered showers, winds from a north-westerly direction and mild tempera-? ture. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning. .05in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .00in. Rainfall for May to date, 7.02in. Average rainfall for May, 4.63in. Rainfall for year to date, 20.631 n. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist!. The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikutoThcmes Valley is as follows. Forecast: Light to moderate easterly to northerly winds. Weather fair and mild. Seas slight to moderate. General inference: An anticyclone, with its centre to the eas*t, covers New Zealand and pressure is high also across the North Tasman Sea. A shallow westerly depression is advancing across the South Tasman.
