MEMORIAL FUND.
APPEAL TO UNIONISTS. (Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. An appeal to the members of the Labour Parly and trade unionists to support the King George V. National Memorial Fund, which .Vi to be devoted lo the establishment of children’s permanent health camps, was made by Mr James Roberts, president of the New Zealand Labour Party, in an interview to-day. Mr Roberts said the memorial was particularly fitting. In his opinion the real lest of a nation’s economic and social status rested on three things: its provision for the old folk, its treatment of its women, and it* attitude towards the children. In Hie health camp movement New Zealanders were recognising llieir obligations to the children, and he was sure that everyone, irrespective of party or creed, would recognise that llieir flnst duty was towards the children.
