ALWAYS HAPPY

THE DUKE OF WINDSOR. PHOTOGRAPH WITH MRS SIMPSON. A FREE-FOR-ALL FIGHT. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received May 8, 3.15 p.m.) TOURS, May 7. The Duke of Windsor and Mrs Simpson standing on the terrace at the chateau, received photographers. Replying to a request for a happy picture, Mrs Simpson said; “We are always happy.” The Duke added: “Of course. Isn’t that evident?” During the taking of the photographs the couple were laughing and talking genially, and we're radiantly happy.

The pair later went driving, preceded and followed by cars full of detectives.

There was a free-for-all fight at one moment, when the police tried to stop a cameraman.

The reporters will be received every evening until the marriage date is announced.
