LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. The following local observations on the weather are supplied by Miss Budd, of Messrs Balfour, Irvine and Webster, Limited, Hamilton: Barometer. Friday 29.80 Saturday .... 29.70 Thermometer. Max. Min. Thursday 61 46 Friday 60 53 Mean Temperature, 56.5 deg. The barometer reads 29.70 and has very little movement. Indications lare for fair to overcast weather to-day, with warmer temperature, north-westerly winds prevailing and scattered showers. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .40in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .02in. Rainfall for May to date, .40in. Average rainfall for May, 4.631 n. Rainfall for year to date, 14.01in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikutoThsmes Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong winds, between southwest and west prevailing. Weather cool and changeable with passing showers. Seas moderate but rather rough offshore. General Inference: A series of rather deep westerly depressions is beginning to oross the Dominion.
