BERLIN, March 16. Christened Friesenland by the Post-master-General, the floating aerodrome constructed by the Lufthansa Company for the naval base of the air mail service to America, was launched at Kiel. She is of 6500 tons, and her speed 16 knots. She can catapult an aeroplane carrying 16 tons of mail. The other floating aerodrome, the ’ Schwabenland, will be stationed 1455 miles off New York. The service is expected to begin in AERIAL SERVICE. FRISCO-AUCKLAND. CLIPPER TO LEAVE TO-DAY. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. A private cable received in Auckland this afternoon stated: “ The PanAmerican clipper will take off on Wednesday (tc-day) from San Francisco, and is or.pocted to arrive at Auckland on Tuesday.” ENGLISH SELECTORS. COMMITTEE RE-ELECTED. LONDON, March 16. - The England test cricket selectors, Messrs P. F. Warner, chairman, P. A. Perrin, and T. A. Higson, have been re-elected, and all will be acting for one year. There was some controversy over the selection committee during the recent tests in Australia, and it was reported that younger men, including Mr Holmes, would be standing for selection this year. These three men havo been England’s selectors for many years.
