FAREWELL AFTERNOON.
MRS O. S. WEST HONOURED. Mrs C. W. Rickit and Mrs N. McAlister were hostesses at a most enjoyable afternoon party at the resi- : dence of Mrs Rickit recently, in hon- . our of Mrs O. S. West, who has left Te Awamutu to take up her residence { at St. Heliers Bay. Auckland. The lounge and dining-room looked gay with late summer flowers. Mrs Rickit received the guests wear- , ing a gown of brown with matching chenille sleeves, and Mrs McAlister’s frock was of apricot with long pleatied sleeves. The guest of honour wore a navy and white ensemble. Two interesting competitions were held during the afternoon, the winners being Mrs West and Miss Teas- ! dale. j Mrs C. G. Downes, on behalf of j the hostesses, presented Mrs West with a charming bouquet, the recipj ient suitably responding, after which : she was accorded musical honours. | A delicious afternoon tea was then j served.
