PARKING OF CARS.

AN AUSTRALIAN’S INVENTION. VEHICLE TO MOVE SIDJSWAYS. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, Feb. 22. Mr F. I*. Watson of Melbourne, has patented in London an invention which, it, la claimed, will enable a car to move sideways for the purpose of parking.

The invention consists of four small wheels aftlxed to the bases of hydraulic Jacks, which, when lowered, take the weight of the car off tne ground and enable it to move sideways into the kerb. The parking wheels are driven off the car engine.

Mr Watson proposes, after tests, to submit the idea to manufacturers.
