OTAGO’S SHIELD WIN, MARGIN OF 06 RUNS. Otago won the Plunket Shield cricket match with Canterbury by 66 runs when Mills stumped Mapplebeck off Dunning as rain fell. Canterbury were all out for 206. Closing scores are as follows:—Menzfes, b Badcock, 61; Mapplebeck, st. Mills, b Dunning, 11; Mulcock, not out, 0. Bowling for Otago Silver took no wickets for 24; Badcock 1 for 11; Elmes 3 for 76; Dunning 4 for 77; Nimmo 2 for 35; Groves 0 for 36. AUSTRALIAN RACING. TRIALS AT FLEMINGTON. GAY BLONDE HITS OUT. YOUNG CRUSADER GOES WELL. At Flemington the following gallops were done on the course proper:—Gay Blonde, a shoeless mile, in 1.45; Disalto four furlongs in 5035, and Hua, assisted by Cultra, seven furlongs in 1.31, the last four in 50is. Young Crusader was going well over nine furlongs in 1.59. Radiogram ran ten furlongs in 2.15. Wykenham, assisted him over the last mile in 1.47. Bombus and Valpan nnished together over six furlongs' on the grass in I.lß\. Magnum Bonum defeated St. Valorey over ten furlong in 2.15 and Hot Shot negotiated a mile in 1.48.
