AUSTRALIA AND JAPAN. EXPORTERS AFFECTED BY DISPUTE BIG DROP IN WOOL VALUES. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Feb. 20, 11.45 p.m.) CANBERRA, Feb. 20. During the last six months of the trade dispute between Australia and Japan, Australian exporters lost £6,000,000 compared with the previous year owing to the operation of the Japanese embargo, but Australian imports from Japan remained almost at the same level as in 1935. Australian wool exports declined from £6,464,358 to £15.345. Australian currency imports from Japan during the final six months of the dispute were valued at £2,504,616, compared with £2,679,083 for the corresponding period of 1935.
