WEDDING.

RAMSAV—UPTON. ____ Shaded gladloli decorated St. Peter‘s Cathedral on Saturday evening when the marriage was solemnlsed of Ethel Charlotte, only daughter of Mrs E. L. Upton, of Vercoe Road, Hamilton, and the late Mr Albert Upton. of Waimai, and Alexander Hugh Ramsay. of Auckland, elder son of Mr and Mrs 'H. E. Ramsay, of Hankow, China. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. M. Beaufort, Mr E. H. Apthorp presldlng at the organ. 'The bride, who entered the church with her uncle, Mr H. W. VVllson, wore a lovely gown of deep cream Irlsh guipure lace over deeper toned crepe suede. The gown was fashioned on inm-fltting lines, the skirt falling to a sweeping fan—shaped train, and Hie bodice being finished with a oowled front. ller veil of cream Brussels net .was held in place with a. head-dress of real orange blossom ~and jasmine and she carried a bouquet of deep cream roses and jasmine. ’

Miss Molly Stevenson, of Auckland, was the bridesmaid, wearlng a charming frock of old gold lace. The bodice was fashioned with a collar and deep falling llare from the shoulders, the skirt falling to a slight train. She carried a sheaf of golden bronZe gladi—oli to match her head-dress of the some flowers. Mr J. \V. S. Upton was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride‘s mother, the rooms being charmingly arranged with flowers in autumn tints. Mrs Upton received the guests wearing a gown of string coloured lihantilly lace, falling to a slight train, the bodice being fashioned with a cowl neck and cape sleeVes. She were also an am—ber and opal necklace. ller hat of thrown stitched goorgctte had a crown of lace and flowers, and she carried a bouquet of amber roses. When ‘Mr and Mrs A. 11. Ramsay left by car for the wedding trip the bride travelled wearing a suit of navy patterned marocaln with an aprlcot shaded lace jumper and navy hat. They will make their home in Auckland.
