SUNDAY SCHOOL CONCERT.
FUNCTION AT TE AWAMUTU. VARIED PROGRAMME PRESENTED. I Times Representative.) TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday. Elaborately produced and well presented, an enjoyable concert arranged by the pupils and teachers of the St. John’s Sunday School, Te Awamutu, was held in the Parish Hall last evening. A large and varied programme was well received by the large attendance. All t lie items were presented in costume and muuh credit is due to Mrs ’ll. Steer for her work as producer. Features of the programme were a bracket of three songs scenas based on the works of A. A. Milne, nationa* dances and a tap duo. The programme was as follows:—lnstrumental selections, The Melody Four; choruses by the whole company; toe dance, Peggy Sager; sea chanties, R. Brain, M. Griffn, W. Griffin, 'G. Bridge, L. Bayley and R. Bayley; sketch, Joy Lee and J. Oliphant; playelte, J. Oliphant, M. Griffon ancl Joy Lee; song and dance, the Bible Glass Girls; sketches from the works of A. A. Milne by (1) Joy Lee, J. Oliphant, H. Benton, P. Steer and D. Steer (2) Helen Lee, Don Oliphant and Beryl Olsen; (3) Helen Lee and Ray Brain; sailors’ hornpipe; Elaine North; highland fling, Diana Wall; Irish jig, Pat Bridge; drill exercises; character dance, Miss Munro; tap duo, Peggy Sager and Helen Lee; sketches by the Sunday School pupils.
At the conclusion of the concert presentations on behalf of the' Sunday School pupils and teachers were made by Mr H. Swarbrick to the Rev. and Mrs S. R. Wareing, who will leave shortly for England. Mr Wareing suitably replied on behalf of Mrs Wareing and himself.
