MALEB ON THE FUND. RETURNS TO AUGUST 29. A DECREASE REVEALED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The numbers of males wholly or partly dependent on the Employment Promotion Fund on August 29 were as follows: Registered but not eligible or not placed on relief, 2700; against 2804 on August 1. Receiving rationed relief work under scheme No. 5, 15,569; against 15,945. Receiving sustenance without work: 25,994; against 26,296. Receiving full, time employment, wholly or partly paid from the Employment. Promotion Fund, 6584; against 8958. Total: 50.847, against 54,003, a decrease of 3156. The figures show a decrease of 9959 against August 31 last year.
