Sullivan, Minteierof Commerce and Industries W investigating the possibilities of establishing factories for the manufacture of sacks under a Cheap and quick process invented by an Ashburton engineer. By this process it is claimed that hemp is made as soft as wool and silk, tougher tiian jute, tasteless and damp resisting and can be spun and knitted without fluff. Authorities on textiles have been impressed with the tests.
