RULES FOR HEALTH.

THE PACE THAT KILLS. MORE TRANQUIL EXISTENCE. Doctors have almost reached the limit of improving health and lengthening life unless the existence of man becomes more tranquil, declared Dr. Russell C. McCaughan at the congress of the American Osteopathic Association in New York. “The morning routine of jumping from bed to bath, to breakfast, to a Bedlam of activity, varied only by a week-end of 54 holes of golf or a 500mile motor drive, is a pattern of life which only the hardiest can survive,” said Dr. McCaughan. Six Rules. Six principal rules of health for average persons were laid down by Dr. McCaughan. They were:— 1. Eight hours’ sleep. 2. Drink four or five pints of liquid daily. 3. Eat a wide variety of food slowly. 4. Never become too good at competitive sports. 5. Walk a lot. 6. Don’t worry or flurry, but learn "to think deliberately and usefully."
