A body found on the beach on the \\‘estport-Greymouth coastal road this afternoon was identified as that of Mr Arthur Naylor. aged 62. deputy-omcial assignee at Greymouth and also secretary of the Justices of the Peace Association. The police investigations into the death of Mr George'Stewart Neish. ifisherman. aged 6! years. at Palmers—ton on August 26. resulted in an arrest being made to—day. Prompt braking by the driver of the \VellingtomAuckland express on the bridge at Longburn on Friday night, prevented the train from running over an elderly man, who was crawling over the sleepers. Two men in a. 15“. launch Oatea. had an unenviabie experience on \Vellington Harbour this afternoon when they were caught in a southerly sale. Observing the approach of the storm they dropped anchor in an endeavour to ride it out. but the boat dragged almost two miles toward the Petone Beach before its occupants were res—cued by another launch party.
