LAST RESPECTS PAID.

LATE MR JOBEPH CHICKEN. LARGE GATHERING AT FUNERAL. A large cortege of cars made It a way to the Hamilton East cemetery this afternoon when the funeral of the late Mr Joseph Chicken took place. Members of the Masonic Lodge were among the mourners, amt the service was conducted by the Rev. G. C. Rea>. The combined Hamilton Citizens' and Waikato Regimental and Municipal Hands were present, the deceased ii one time being a bandmaster. Fol lowing the last wishes of Mr Chicken. “Lead Kindly Light” was played at the chapel ‘and “Abide With Me" at the graveside.
