Rainfall for previous 48 hours, .16in. Total rainfall for September to date. l.OOin. Average rainfall for September. 3.88in. Rainfall for year to date, 40.26in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThanies Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate northerly winds prevailing and gradually freshening. Weather fine and mild but later increasing. Seas moderate. General Inference: An anti-cyclone is centred north ot the Bay of Plenty, but a depression covers the western Tasman Sea and is advancing slowly eastwards.
