A NAVAL OCCASION.

NEW CRUISER VISITED. ADDRESS BY REAR-ADMIRAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Monday. An official call was paid to-day to H.M.S. Achilles by Rear-Admiral, the Hon. E. H. Drummond, commanding the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. He was received by Captain Glennie and Commander Paton. Rear-Admiral Drummond inspected a guard of the Royal Marines and officers of the Achilles presented to him. Later In the day Rear-Admiral Drummond again visited the ship and addressed the men assembled on the quarter deck, welcoming them to the New Zealand station. Good reports had been received from the Achilles, he said, since the ship was commissioned and he hoped this reputation would be upheld.
