WELLINGTON, Monday. The Maunganut which arrived from San Francisco to-day encountered high winds and strong seas. Yesterday one huge sea heeled her to port. and, before she was righted. two large successive waves struck her on the starboard side. Many passengers were seated on the port side. and chains either slid into the scuppers or the passengers were thrown out. of them. some suf‘fering bruises. l One passenger was tangled up .wlth the chairs in the saloon and ‘sprained his wrist, beSldes receiving other minor injuries.
