NGARUAWAHIA BRAuOH. Mrs Einpson presided at the monthly mreting of the Ngaruwuhuiu brunch at the \Vomen's Division of the Farmers‘ Union, and displayed a hand-made nut. Suggestions were received from the members for improving the divi—sion. The competition for best scones was won by Mrs A. Paterson. The roll call, “The most humorous moment of my life," was a great success. it was arranged to have a sales table for next month to improve the funds. The competition for next month \“ill be "Plain Biscuits.“ PUTARURU BRANCH. The June meeting of the Putaruru branch of the \Vomen‘s Division of the Farmers Union was held in the club rooms on Friday afternoon, Mrs P. Karl presiding over an excellent at—tendance of at least 40 members The president welcomed .\irs L2. K. \\’ilson, Dominion president of the \Vomen's Division of the Farmers‘ Union to the meeting. The correspondent-r). contained a letter from the Lichflelri branch 01‘ the Women's Institute, extending an in—-xitatt-on to members to be present at their ihirthday gathering. It was de—rided that the annual dance of the Putaruru Division at the Farmers‘ Union should be held on August 7.. and that. the birthday party for this year be Icanrrlled, in place or which the members agreed to make the next meeting a bring—tand—biiy afternoon, to he held in the club rooms, the object 01 the branch bring to did the nuances. it. was decided that the programme of the bring—and—buy afternoon should include for juniors a competition in‘ cooking and that all members should compete in making the best sponge for this occasion. It was felt also that the interest for this meeting would 'be increased by having prizes. This was agreed upon. Members arranged to hold a. 500 card evening in the rest rooms on June 24. in order to raise funds.

Mrs C. K. Wilson, Dominion president. delivered an address on the work 0! t_he division throughout New Zea.land. and on the movement for the amalgamation of the two great women‘s organisations, the Women‘s Division oi’ the Farmers‘ Union and the Women's institute.

Those present appreciated very much the Dominion president‘s excellent ad—dress and were greatly interested in her remarks on the two subjects. Mrs Wilson spoke of the results achieved by the system of the community chest, and said how great they had been to branches and to individual women throughout the farming community. Mrs \Vilsou was thanked for her most Interesting address. Mrs C. Tulloek sang during the af-tor-noon. The hostesses were Mesdames P. D. Morrison, J. Dodd, Lynds (Tokeroa), and Jones. NGARUA BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Ngarua branch of the \Vomen‘s Division of ‘Farmers' Union was held in the Ngurua Hall, when Mrs S. C. Garter pre—sided over a large attendance of members and visitors from the surrounding districts. A competition for the best plate of rock cakes, for a prize donated by Mrs Carter. was won by Mrs ;\_ Donovan, with Miss J. Kay second.
