WOMEN'S DIVISION.

HAMILTON BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Ham—ilton branch of the \Vomen's Division was held in the YMCA. rooms on Tuesday. The president. Mrs Clem—ents, presided over 8. good attendance or members. After the reading of the creed the general business was dealt with. Mrs \Vebh reported that 642 articles of clothing had been distributed during the year and Mrs Bell gave a report of hospital visitstlons also distribution or Jam, eto. Mrs Chapman, delegate to National Council, gave the report of their monthly meeting. It was deoided to send a delegate to the annual conference to be held in July, in Well—ington. A very satisfactory figure was reached on the Show stall. £B2 10s being raised. A donation of £6 was received from the Farmers’ Union as the result of combined functions held

at Te Kowhai, last month. The president heartily thanked all members for their generous help and donations of goods. A competition was held during the afternoon, “ Songs,” Mrs Mangnoli being the winner. Mr Ziman, president of the Farmers’ Union, spoke of the work that the union was doing and also spoke on several of the remits that were discussed at. the recent Auckland conference. Ills lecture was both interesting and instructive. Afl.o* answering questions the speaker was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks — carried by acclamation. The question of the amalgamation of the Institute and Division was disoussed at some length, but was left in abeyance in the mean time. Arrangements are well in hand for the birthday party t.o be held on June 30, at I o’clock in Toorak Chambers. All members are asked to bring a basket.

, TE MATA BRANCH. 'l‘he Te Mats branch held its June meeting -on Thursday, when there was a record attendance. It was decided that the branch purchase £1 worth of Anzac stamps. Arrangements for the «birthday party were finalised. After the business was finished a. social afternoon was spent. A presentation was made to Miss Rita Thom—son, on the occasion of her approachlng marriage. The presentation was made by the president, the secretary at the same time handing her a posy. Musical honours were accorded her, Miss Thomson suitably replying and thanking the branch (or their good wishes and gift. Solos rendered by Mrs J. Newton were much (an—3 Joyed.
