BRITAIN AND JAPAN. SHOOTING OF A SOLDIER. MILITARY CIOUR'I‘ CONVENED. United Press Assn—mac. Tel. Copyright. (Received June ii, 11.0 a.m.) LONDON. June 10. The Sun-Herald says that as a result of the delicate Anglo—Japanese situation developing as an outcome at [he shooting of a Japanese soldier British Military L‘Ourt is being convened again. The Japanese have declared themselves diusatisfled with the British in—quiry, which has not tallied \\'ith the evidence at their inquiry. The secretary or the Japanese Em—hasek at Peking has communicated to Britain copies at Japanese testimonials taken from bar-tenders and tea house waitresses. all of whom are of Japanese or Korean nationality. The British Court will examine these witnesses. The position has been further oomplieated by Major—General Matsumuro. Japanese political agent {or North China. declaring that if Britain perslain in her “insinceriiy” the Japanese might be compelled to consider special measures. The British regard such a statement from a responsible author~ ity as deplorable. The Japanese Government had not associated itself with this statement. nevertheless it had not attempted to repudiate it. and is likewise silent regarding a statement from the more extreme elements threatening direct action.
