CROWDS AT SHOW. EXCURSION FROM WELLINGTON. ....._— GATE TAKIXGS [313 £255. Unprecedented interest has been taken this year in the Waikato \‘Vlnter Show, which has been favoured by perfect weather. As a result the gate receipts have shown a great advance—ment each day. To-day the building was croWdEH with town and country Visitors, while there were also over 100 Wellingtonians present. Yesterday the building was thronged with school children i‘rom tlie Paeroa, lluntly and \Naihi lines, all the special excursion trains being packed. The local schools also provided large contingents and it was difiicuit to pass around the staliS. Last evening there was also a particularly large attendance. \\‘iih the receipts for the first four days showing an increase of £255 there is every prospect of the final figures setting another record. The show will close on \V’ednesday. . A special Week-end excursion train left W'ellington for Auckland last evening, passing through Frankton Junction at 8.30 this morning. There were over 500 passengers on the train and over one hundred allghted at. Frankton to attend the show. The remainder proceeded to Auckland, many for the Great Northern Steeplechase meeting. i The musical competitions were continued yesterday and the recalls in the ‘cVenlng drew large attendances. The :‘SChOOIS' folk dancing competition was ‘an excellent attraction, a very high standard being attained.
