WIRTHS’ CIRCUS.
At an early hour on Tuesday morning Wirths’ complete big company of European artists, a large herd of elephants, performing tigers and monkeys, and 14 cages of wild and strange animals drawn from the world's jungles, will arrive by special tram from Te Aroha, after what has proved to be Wirths’ most triumphant tour of New Zealand to date. This year it would appear that Messrs Wirth Brothers have outrivalled all their previous efforts by engaging such world-famous performers the Seven Hiltons, a brilliant, acrobatic troupe, including August Hilton, who performs a death-defying triple somersault from a springboard into a chair; Frohm’s troupe of four performing sea lions, an amazing series of balancing feats; Wirths’ Royal Bengal performing tigers in a thrilling act presented by Captain Eric Flyger; the De Paul troupe of aero-acrobats, the swiftest lightning tumbling act presented to the New Zealand public; Wirths’ midget pigmy elephants, trained by Harry Mooney; the Nel-son troupe of ' flying novelty acrobats in a spectacular series of acrobatics; Funny Danny in a screaming speciality; and, of special interest to horse-lovers, Miss Gladys, on Duke, the golden horse. Wirths’ ponies and monkeys, trained and presented by Mr Philip Wirth, Jun. Accompanying this great gathering of international artists is Wirths’ colossal menagerie. The circus will play at Hamilton for one night only, on Tuesday, February 25. The location is Frankton Junction. The box plan is now open.
